Together, life wins, love wins, and God is glorified.
Mary’s* first interaction with A Woman's Place Medical Clinic was over the phone when she called to schedule her intake appointment. She was emotional as she shared that she was “struggling to choose life for her baby.”
Mary hoped to parent, but her circumstances left her especially vulnerable. After sharing her pregnancy with her boyfriend, who was also her employer, she lost both the relationship and her job. The separation forced her out of her home, leaving her temporarily living in a hotel and without income. With no family nearby and no support system, Mary felt completely alone. Our team at A Woman’s Place Medical Clinic reassured her that she was not alone and that help was available.
During her appointment Mary opened up about a past abortion. Tears fell as she shared that she believed the domestic violence she later endured was God’s punishment for what she had done. This moment opened the door to gently share the truth of God’s character, His mercy, His forgiveness, and His deep love for her and her unborn baby.
Mary shared that she believed in Jesus as her Savior and she accepted a referral for professional counseling. By the time she returned for her ultrasound, she had already attended her first counseling session.
During the ultrasound, everything changed.
Seeing her baby’s heartbeat for the first time brought overwhelming emotion. Mary spoke out loud to her baby, expressing how much she loved him or her. Life became real in that moment, not just as a responsibility, but as a gift.
Mary soon made a plan to move out of state to be closer to family and build a stable future. She shared that our organization had been the “hands and feet of Jesus” to her and that she tangibly felt God’s love through the staff during one of the darkest seasons of her life.
A Woman’s Place Medical Clinic continues to stay in touch with Mary, offering encouragement and support as she steps into motherhood with hope.
This is what happens when life wins and love wins. And it happens because people like you choose to give.
